On me souffle à l'oreille ceci, dans le moniteur belge :

http://www.belgium.be/eportal/ShowDoc/fed_ict/imported_content/pdf/10-01-05_2.pdf?contentHome=entapp.BEA_personalization.eGovWebCacheDocumentManager.fr

3. Le logiciel, de type « open source » et/ou commercial prévoit :
- un système d’exploitation;
- un navigateur Internet;

Because the belgian governement want's to push the use of the new belgian identitycard (in dutch http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elektronische_identiteitskaart).

Some time ago there was a vist of Bill Gates and he said that it would be supported in Windows (it is also supported in linux off course :-) )
The governement now has a place where you can safe-chat. You have to login using your EID. It checkes your age, and if you're

What I don't understand is the need for an electronic ID card reader. What the hell does it have to do with "Internet for everybody"?

I'm sure Linux was allowed, but no vendor proposed it.

But even then, I don't "applaudi" at all. The aims of this initiative (improve computer literacy) could be better addressed then by starting a complex program that even has tax-consequences like this.

Oh, and I'm not a fan of Vanvelthoven, Freya, or their friends at the other side of the border either of course ;-)

Bonjour,

I also asked myself this question (and asked for help on the usenetgroup be.comp.os.linux)

I think it is possible to provide an Internetforeveryone pc equipped with linux.
Antivirus: (not really nececarry off course): clamav
Antispam: spamassassin, bogofilter, ... (default installed in eg Ubuntu)
Anti Spyware: (not truelly ani-spyware, but with some imagination it does the same) chkrootkit
firewall: iptables off course (firestarter?)

Nevertheless, it's a missed chance off course. These PC could have been cheaper ...

(en anglais, parce que je suis flamand et vous ne comprends pas _mon_ français ;-) )
